    Dear Fellow Rotarian,

       Sowerby Bridge's 2008 Charter Dinner promises to be an event not to     be        missed with a   very impressive line up of speakers including Allan Jagger,        RIBI President 2007-08 and Willie Clark,  Community & Vocation        Committee Chairman District 1040.

       The event venue is the widely acclaimed Bertie's Banqueting Rooms in        Elland which are just 2 miles from M62 Junction 24. Please advise your        members that wives, husbands, partners and guests are most welcome and that        tickets are limited and that it will be wise to book early for what we believe        will be an extremely pleasurable and entertaining evening.

       Allan Jagger, RIBI President 2007-08

       Responding to the Toast to Rotary International

       Allan joined the Rotary Club of Elland in 1983, and served as District        Governor 1040 (the best part of Yorkshire) in 1999/2000. 

   Chairman of the RIBI Foundation Committee 2001-03, Rotary Regional        Foundation Co-ordinator for 2001-3 and from 2001 to 2006. He was the Host        Area Co-ordinator at Bradford University for the Rotary Peace Centre.

       Allan was awarded the Distinguished Service Award in 2003-04.

       Allan has been a lifelong supporter of the Scout Movement and is the        President of the West   Yorkshire County Scouts.

 

       Guest Speaker

       Willie Clark, Community & Vocation Committee Chairman District 1040

       Willie joined the Rotary Club of Bingley in 1999 following an active service        within Baildon Round table where he was Chairman on two occasions and a        member of the National Council.

       Following a number of positions within the Bingley Club he is currently the        club's President and, at the same time, District Community & Vocational        Chairman and Area 32 Chairman.             

       Willie is Managing Director of his family engineering business started by his        great grandfather in 1860, and over the last few years has become one of the        most sought after speakers in District 1040.
